For 2011 we were pleased to welcome a new Sponsor CARS Recovery Ltd whose support enabled us to offer a very competitive package. We look forward to a long and productive relationship with them.

We also welcomed the support from our six Stage Sponsors, John Lawrie Group, A R R Craib Transport, Cansco Greig, Coltel Ltd, Bruce McCombie Builder, Whyte Cranes and from our Corporate Partners.

This year we returned to our heartland stages in Kincardineshire. We planned a very compact route with over 43.5 competitive stage miles, and only 100 road miles, which we were confident will give a superb days sport to all competitors.  We were pleased to confirm that all forest stages are single usage.                                                         

With 2 wheel drive Cars in Classes 1 to 5, and Historics in Class 6, running at the front of the rally, once again the competitors in the small-engined cars had the benefit of smoother roads.

 Rally HQ as usual was the Thistle Hotel, Altens, and we are grateful for their continuing assistance and hospitality, which always makes the Granite weekend one to remember.
